some science projects never want to end…

So we do science once a week with our friends that homeschool too, and in January, for our turn, we decided to do a stalagmite/stalagtite science project. The book said, it should form in a week, but three months later, and I finally said, “good enough!” We filled two jars with water, added baking soda, and linked a string from one jar to the other one. We put a plate between the jars, and watched how the string soaked up not only the water, but the baking soda. It was fun to see the different stages, and even though we never got it to form a “column” and finally have the stalagmite/stalagtite meet, it was a great project nevertheless. Easy and fun, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to see science quietly and effortlessly work.

  1. You are amazing. I wish I could homeschool my children. I don’t think I have the patience to do it. It looks like you guys have a ton of fun doing it! What a great mom you are!!
