mt. evans…a 14’er…

july.  2012

our field trip to mt. evans was a beautiful one.  we drove up the mountains for 17 miles, and came to the national park entrance of mt. evans, where we drove another 18 miles up to the top.  the views were absolutely breathtaking.  we had a nature guide teach us about the bristlecone trees halfway up the mountain at mt. goliath research center, and then at the top, we caught the little class about the big horn sheep and mountain goats that roam the mountains.  it was lovely, and this field trip fell on a saturday, so it was so great to have jarom there with us!

metal stamping and stuff…

july.  2012

i’ve wanted to do metal stamping for a long time, and finally got into it.  i love it!  i have only made a few necklaces thus far, but enjoy it when I get to it.  here’s a few jewelry pieces i’ve done…

i made the necklace above, with some belgian chocolate dipped strawberries, and of course, cute boxes to put it all in for a friend.  i love cute packaging!

i love soldering!  the necklaces are so different from most things you see, and you can personalize them beautifully!

yummy, healthy, homemade meals…

july.  2012

we have had a wonderful “more than a month” of eating fruits, veggies, nuts and grains, with a few cheats, but overall, it’s been awesome!  i have grown to love veggies, and even crave them.  eating fresh food is so much yummier than packaged food!  our kids have been champs too!  they have eaten weird looking stuff, and have even grown to love it, without really any complaining!  they are amazing.  i have noticed myself feeling slightly better, and jarom has dropped twenty pounds.  why couldn’t that be me?  thanks crappy thyroid!  our girls even get in the kitchen and chop and cut, and little nadia loves helping out her mom and dad and sisters cooking
