our christmas eve traditions…
december 24. 20009
Oh how we’ve loved getting together with the Baxter’s and the Parker’s. This is our third year now. The tradition of picking a country to make and eat food from(1st year was Sweden, then Germany, this year was Mexico), reading of the birth of Christ from Luke while the children act it out in costumes, singing Christmas hymns throughout the story, and when it’s all done, bringing out the bells, and giving it a good try and playing a Christmas tune. Which by the way, we are becoming really good at…o.k., the kids have gotten a bit older in the past couple of years which really help too!
p.s. Nadia was hilarious, Madelyn Baxter would lay the baby blanket on the floor, and Nadia would go over un-assisted and lay down in the middle of the blanket, so Madelyn could wrap her to play the part of baby Jesus. Such a smart little toddler!
Then we headed back home for the traditional open the pajamas before we headed off to bed. Yea, we love all that Christmas brings!

Nadia’s new snowsuit, gloves too big, but she tried as hard as she could to keep gloves and hat on. So cute seeing Alex pull her in a sled across massive amounts of snow(at least to us), over to the neighbors dog Popcorn, which Nadia loves! A snow owl sculpted by Alex and Tim and Jordan Vezzani.
