stone mountain…
april 10. 2010
Stone Mountain is amazing, I don’t know if I can describe it without taking away from all that it has to offer. First off, it’s the largest piece of granite, I think in the world. It’s miles deep into the ground, and pretty wide. They have all sort of family fun events near and around, picnicing, laser light shows, sky hike(where you’re hooked in but do a rope course in 1, 2, or 3 stories up. It’s beautiful. You can take the tram up to the top of the mountain, and hike down(it’s about a mile hike), which is what we did. I wasn’t about to hike up it, maybe one day!
ma, pa, da dates…
april/may 2010
So, Alex wanted some time with just mom AND dad, so we decided to do ma/pa/daughter dates. We set a schedule that we’ll go on a date with each of them, and it will cycle every three months, so mom and dad get to have a couple of months dating eat other too!
Alex wanted to go to Stone Mountain, and do the Sky Hike, but it wasn’t openend, so we decided to go roller skating. It happened to be a night where a few private schools were there also, and out of hundreds of people, we were the only “light skinned” people for most of the time, which was a change for us:) It was great, and a lot of fun. Jarom and I haven’t roller-skated since our blind date in which we were on dates with other people, and that was when we first met!
Then, Madison, keeping food in mind as she always does(my kind of girl), wanted to go see “How to Train Your Dragon” in 4D, at the Movie Tavern. This theater is amazing, and dangerous. They will serve food to you that is amazing, while you are watching the movie, and it’s some of the best tasting food I’ve ever had. So we did that, and she got an amazing hamburger, juicy and delicious, with lightly seasoned yummy fries, that I couldn’t keep my hands off of. So much fun spending time and getting to know these sweet girls better.
Then our Camden, wanted to go to the mall, and get a make-over and bare escentuals. So we tried one night, but got a late start, and was patient in waiting like two more weeks for her date to happen again. We went to Lenox Mall in Atlanta, it’s beautiful, amazing, and gigantic! She got her cute make-over, and we walked the mall, looked at jewelry at Claire’s, and got a fruit smoothy. It was so fun shopping with Camden. You’d never know she was six. I feel like I’m with a teenager all ready. She’s going to be fun to share clothes, jewelry, and shoes with, because she just loves all of that, and came out that way. So much fun!
Then Jarom and I got to go on a special date. Our neighbors have a not-for profit organization, and we paid so much per plate, and Jarom flew in that Friday, and I drove downtown, and we met at the Ritz-Carlton, which was soooooo romantic and fun. We walked around the silent auction, ate an amazing dinner, and had a wonderful evening. I wish we took pic’s of all these fun dates, but I wanted to journal these fun memories so we wouldn’t forget!
