Our first visit to the Atlanta Zoo was so much fun. I had forgotten the stroller too, and was worried, but Nadia walked around like a champ, with no complaints! Madison brought her new friend Sadie with her, and she is a great, delightful and animated person, and made our zoo trip very enjoyable! The Atlanta Zoo is beautiful, the sidewalks are draped with green tree cover above, so the sun won’t continually zap you throughout the viewing experience. Love it!

easter…
april 2010
Easter happened to be the first weekend we were in our home. The movers came the Monday before, I was here unloading and unpacking with the girls in Georgia, plus playing with new friends a few times in that week, a fun luncheon on Friday with a couple of families, a barbeque party with people in our new ward on Saturday in-between conference, and by the time Sunday came, I couldn’t get out of bed. (This was day 7 being in our new house, and we were all tired, so we basically were in p.j.’s except for Jarom all day Sunday-thank goodness we can watch and listen to conference from home now!) So Jarom, as always, just did everything when I am unable, and did the big breakfast(including grinding the wheat for our homemade waffles), coloring of the eggs with the girls, and took care of everything. He’s absolutely amazing, I don’t know how he does all that he does, and never a complaint!
piedmont park…

Just days after moving in, our sweet friends who we had just met and loved, invited us to play with them, ride bikes, play soccer, and picnic at the huge park in Central Atlanta. It’s beautiful, with ponds, a theater for events including outdoor movies, and bike paths and other great outdoorsy things. Did I mention, great tree climbing? Well, there is!
Being in Atlanta, there is a bit of a shock to the system, at the large amount of same gender things going on. It’s a big hub for that, so that’s been a conversation in which the gospel, the plan of salvation, and the proclamation to the family have been discussed a bit more than previously.
Jarom and I went to a Brave’s game in May with the Hansen’s and Young’s, and we went to this restaurant before the game, so yummy and fun, but when the waitress said, “Here’s your table,” with a deep voice, I almost jumped back. Not quite used to that lifestyle change, but it keeps you on your toes guessing, that’s for sure!
