playing the part…
to act or not to act…
sept. 2009
Our girls have had so much fun with the costumes that were left here from the Middle Ages and Renaissance Times. Alex wrote a play about a spoiled princess who was mean to her servant, and a magician came and granted the servant to teach the princess a lesson. The princess was now the servant, and understood she should be nice and not treat others unkindly. It was very cute and creative, the girls definitely love performing!

food pyramid…
food pyramid…

We had a couple really great lessons on nutrition and the food pyramid. I think it’s helped my kids understand a lot more when I say we shouldn’t eat something because it’s not healthy for us. That doesn’t mean they still don’t want it, but at least I have another resource besides myself that also teaches the same principles! It’s not just mommy saying they shouldn’t eat it. Also it’s helped them understand we need a little of all the different kinds of food, to not just eat meat or bread throughout the day, but that we need a balance of everything. They did a great job creating their pyramid!

A reporter for our town wanted to do a bit on the fundraiser that the kids did, so here’s a pic we sent to her to put in the paper. Whether she does it or not, we have it journaled now for the girls to remember forever.
