time with daddy…
november 14. 2009
Nadia and daddy had a little time together on Saturday, while the older girls were at a neighbor’s birthday party. Daddy and Nadia were in there for almost an hour, playing and talking. I had to capture! Nadia loves pulling this off of the shelf, and playing with it when we are doing school. It’s hanging beads in order, to teach counting from 1 to 9, and she loves hanging the beads over and over. Obviously she doesn’t know it’s counting, but eventually will! Every time I came over with the camera, Nadia would run to me and say, “See?” She just wanted to look at the pictures of her on my camera, too smart!
madison time…
november 12. 2009
Since Jarom has been busy with contracts, traveling Sunday evening, and returning home Friday evenings, it’s been a great opportunity to spend one-on-one time with the girls. They’ve been rotating nights, staying up with me, watching a movie, doing a craft, playing a game or just relaxing. Madison wanted to watch a show, then do make-up, then play uno-attack, and finally at 12:30am, we climbed into bed. It’s so amazing how the littlest things, at least they seem little at first, make such a difference. Madison wanted to do her own make-up, and she had so much fun, while I waxed my eyebrows, did a mask, and took pic’s of her doing her own thing. We had some wonderful girl time. It’s when I do these things that I feel the happiest. Even though the kitchen needs to be cleaned, laundry done, schooling done, and meals made, I find the most joy in the times I actually play with the kids, which is hard for me to do. So I’m grateful that they haven’t given up on me yet!

parts of a flower…
september 2009
We learned parts of a flower last year, and reviewed this year, but went into more depth taking apart a flower and looking at it under a microscope. I don’t remember learning things like this, so I’m grateful for the second education I’m getting from teaching my sweet girls.
What a blessing it is, we’re so very grateful to be able to not only have me home with our children, but to be able to teach them gospel principles daily in school, along with other important curricula.
The nomenclature cards are from a cd I purchased through www.montessoriforeveryone.com. A very talented and amazing person has done extensive work into doing nomenclatures with beautiful pictures and color for all subjects.
