lds homeschool conference for the families on the east coast…

may 28-30.2008
What an absolutely amazing conference. To be so spiritually fed, and to be around so many homeschool parents and families was more than phenomenal. The speakers were so inspiring, how very accomplished and hardworking they are, and the love and message that seemed to be in every meeting made the event a tremendous inspiration. No matter what we teach, no matter the curriculum, the most important thing, is teaching our children the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are the parents of the armies of Helaman(as latter-day saint families), as one woman’s inspiration talk was titled. We are preparing these children for a battle they are already in, and as we keep teaching, and the key, is teaching by the Spirit, they can and will change the world for the better. Our children as a whole are intelligent and spiritual, and as always, they seem so much more in tune with the Spirit. They are inspirational, and I definitely need to follow their example more. Just letting go more of things that don’t matter, and becoming more like a child…forgiving, happy, and more pure. What a blessing it is to be entrusted with these spirits that aren’t really ours, they are ours for this earthly life, to train and teach and love and take care of, but ultimately, we all belong to our Father in Heaven. What a blessing to be a mother, and what an incredible responsibility, but I have no greater happiness and have nothing else that is more fulfilling then the joy I get from my husband and children. What a blessing it is to have the fullness of the gospel, and to know the love our Heavenly Father has for us.

The pic’s are from our stay in Virginia Beach where the LDS homeschool conference was held, at the Cavalier Hotel. Jarom took the older three girls one day while I was at the conference to the Aquarium. How fun!!! Enjoy.
