december 5. 2009 We got a great amount of snow the first time, and the girls just loved it! This was Nadia’s first snow that she’ll have known and understood more of what’s going on. The girls and dad played in the backyard, built a snowman, buried Cam so she could scare her sisters, and warmed up to some yummy mint hot cocoa. Snow is so much fun!

I love capturing moments like these, where the girls go in and just do sweet things like this! They are all such great sisters to each other-yes, there is bickering, but overall, they are really sweet and thoughtful!

Sometimes we get a massive amount of birds flying by, and even thousands across our yard and the neighbors yards. It’s really cool to watch. Here were some passing through, grabbing branches all across the trees from our yard and beyond. It was beautiful!

I love Montessori, and everything about it. From learning everyday skills, to hands on learning that enriches and helps the mind remember through touching, feeling, and being able to wrap your mind around it at your own pace.
Well, easy enough, our hands-on practical skills lesson was on cleaning plants. We have one plant, (they are too much work to remember to water, on top of all other motherly/house/teacher responsibilities), but the kids loved the simple lesson!
Also, a fun science experiment, I’ve never done this, and if you haven’t, you should try it! It was really cool and funky. You mix corn starch with water, going from one liquid, and one solid, and finding out what they create. It’s definitely the weirdest thing to touch and figure out. It looks like it could be liquidy, but it’s firm, but when warmed by your hand, it’s solid state softens. It’s really cool and fun!
