parts of a flower…
september 2009
We learned parts of a flower last year, and reviewed this year, but went into more depth taking apart a flower and looking at it under a microscope. I don’t remember learning things like this, so I’m grateful for the second education I’m getting from teaching my sweet girls.
What a blessing it is, we’re so very grateful to be able to not only have me home with our children, but to be able to teach them gospel principles daily in school, along with other important curricula.
The nomenclature cards are from a cd I purchased through www.montessoriforeveryone.com. A very talented and amazing person has done extensive work into doing nomenclatures with beautiful pictures and color for all subjects.
grandma lott and sewing…
october 2009
Wow, Grandma Lott went all out, sewing to Alex’s wishes for her birthday! Alex wants to be an indian, inspired by the American Girl Kaya, and they even sewed skirts for the girls Alex will be inviting to the party that match her dress. Grandma got t-shirts for the friends to decorate along with beads too! What a fun and wonderful grandma. In return, Alex helps out around Betty’s home, since she’s the only one there right now, while Butch is in Africa, and all their kids are grown.
Grandma Lott is amazing, we’re grateful for her wonderful friendship, she is truly apart of our family. She’ll take the girls one-on-one, and spend time with them working on things around her home, running errands, and of course, takes them to McdDonalds or Dairy Queen, places I don’t take them:) The girls love spending time with Betty, and so do I. It’s been great having someone to do things with, especially since Jarom travels a lot, pretty much is home on the weekends right now with the contracts he has. We’re very grateful for the work, especially after a very slow year. We’re just very grateful, for everything!
