fountain rock park…

sept. 2009
Our first field trip of the year, was our homeschool group field trip planning session, held at fountain rock park, a beautiful park where kids are able to study and learn about things in nature. Also about the eco-system, the balance of nature, and how it grows and takes care of itself. It’s beautiful! The kids played hard at the playground while the moms were planning, and then we headed to the ponds which are beautiful.

operation smile…

We were going to do a yard sale to just get rid of stuff, but our good friends, the Vezzani’s, wanted to do a bake sale to raise money for the operation smile foundation, in which they fix a cleft lip or palate of a child, which changes their whole life. We needed $250 dollars, and we were able to raise $269. What a great and wonderful day. Quite a few of us baked and cooked, including Alex, so it was a huge group effort. We had fun making our sign, and were excited to be able to do something worthwhile. Alex said she had never felt so good! What a wonderful experience! We were so glad to have Grandma Lott there, to blow bubbles and help out so much, especially since Jarom was out of town at his yearly retreat to a BYU football game weekend away!

something I love passed down…

september 2009
I love those moments when my chidren play together without the bickering, tattling, and fighting. I used to play chess with my brother growing up, which I am the oldest, and he’s almost 7 years younger, so I would have been 17, and he was 10. It was probably the one thing we had in common! So, I love playing chess, and taught Alex and Camden, and Madison is figuring it out too. Here are a few pic’s of Alex and Camden battling it out in chess!
