madison and mommy weekend…

jan. 30-31. 2009
This concludes for awhile, the getaways, since everyone has had their turn, but they were fun! Madison and I decided to head up to Baltimore, and on Friday afternoon, we went to Port Discovery, a three story indoor playground with a lot of fun rooms around it to visit. We went to the hotel after, hung out, ordered pizza, played games(mexican train, one of our very favorites), watched a movie(city of ember), ordered a little room service(fruit and yogurt, mmmmm) and went to bed. Well, I should say, Madison fell asleep, but then I kept tossing and turning because she kept crowding me, sucking her thumb, and crowding me some more. She loves having a warm body next to her, so she slept great!

We got up the next morning, enjoyed a great breakfast, got ready, and headed to the aquarium. The dolphin show was amazing and fun. We haven’t been to the aquarium in quite a few years, so it was so much fun to go back. Once she got her “dolphin” from the toy store, she was rearin’ to head home. We tried the 4D Planet Earth movie, (I love, love, love Planet earth), but she wouldn’t have it. We at least got to visit the shark tank. We enjoyed Panera for lunch, and headed home. It was fun to spend time with my little Madison, who is growing up so quickly. She is very smart, and quick to crack funny jokes! She’s such a light in our life!

P.S. Rachel Ford, I got a photo of a Coast Guard ship in the harbor. Rachel and I were in Boston at the same time, me for college, and then I nannied, and she had joined the Coast Guard. I’m not sure which was harder?

the moon…

jan. 2009
I was trying to capture the moon, on a windy evening, with clouds rolling by ever-so-quickly. It was such an amazing sight. I even had the tripod out to steady the camera, my 300mm telephoto lens, and still, not as I would like. I read somewhere it’s the reflection of dust particles around the moon reflecting the light from the sun, but I’m sure there’s a trick somehow. I just need to learn it, so please, ignore the imperfections!

my amazing husband…

jan. 2009
Jarom is amazing. He’s between government contracts right now, we’re waiting, waiting, waiting for the next one, but man, the government can be really slow! Meanwhile, we’ve enjoyed having our dad home the last month and a half. He always helps out everywhere, and before the morning was started, he was out shoveling the driveway, turned the cars on and melted the ice slabs that covered them, and made sure everything was cleared. Jarom never stops, constantly is doing the laundry and other household duties, and just helps all the time. I never thought I would marry someone this amazing, I’m grateful for him everyday! What a thoughtful person, really. I wish I was as thoughtful back! Words really could never say how impressed and amazed I am with him daily, and how much I love him.
