alex teaching nadia an important lesson…
december. 2008
It’s never too early to teach a child the importance of pizza. Alex was showing Nadia how to make it, and eat it, even though it’s plastic. What an adorable moment!

alex’s 10th birthday…
am I old enough to have a 10 year old?
december 21.2008
My little Alex, I can’t believe you turned 10! I still remember vividly, which is really surprising for my brain, the day you were born. We didn’t set you down for days it seemed. I held you, then daddy held you, and I wouldn’t let the nurses take you when we were in the hospital. I held you all night, and kept waking up, worrying my arm would relax and I would drop you, so I would hold you tight, and couldn’t let go.
You really amaze me everyday. You are a magnificent and wonderful person. You have a great testimony and are very knowledgeable, especially in the gospel. You remember things that I can’t, help me all the time when I need help, and are a joy to be with. We’ve definitely been blessed with you in our lives, along with all of your sisters.
Now, so you won’t forget, you had Kayleigh Hansen over your birthday weekend, who is your bestest friend since you were 1 1/2. Uncle Aaron, Aunt Cami, Kaylee, and Uncle Cody also joined us on your birthday to blow out the candles and eat yummy cake-our traditional ice cream cake that’s homemade. I had these growing up, and you have loved carrying that tradition on for your birthdays! Happy Birthday, my little munchkin!

Madison’s sweet little friend
december 18.2008
Madison has a couple of sweet little friends, and one of them is Emma. Madison had her clothes layed out the night before in anticipation of their playdate. Emma’s mom even took Emma out of school to come to art and a little school with us that day, which was a lot of fun.
christmas fun…
christmas party!
december 13.2008
I met a great person at the homeschool conference this past year, Julie Hansen, and have gotten together with her and another of her friends, Sara, to talk Montessori and homeschool. Both of these women’s kids are remarkable, you can tell they really work hard at teaching their children, and they are very creative in their teaching methods, which I hope to be better at. Julie and her family had a wonderful Christmas party which we were able to be apart of. It was a blast, and we all had such a wonderful time. Of course, no pic’s of me, because I’m the one always taking the pictures!
christmas tree, oh, christmas tree…
christmas tree…
december 2008
Thanksgiving weekend was wonderful. We stayed here and enjoyed the quiet, no running or traveling, and put up the Christmas tree and decorations. Our traditional little train around the tree is Jarom’s touch, good job buddy!
There’s something about a lit tree, the glow of the lights and the beautiful colors of the decor accented against the green. We love doing a real Christmas tree, even though the needles are a pain, you have to water it, and find a forest to drop it in after the holidays. We love the smell, getting the tree, vacuuming all the mess, it’s just what Christmas is.
