philadelphia visit…

december 30-31.2008
Valerie, my sister, and her husband John wanted to get in a little history, so we decided to stay a night in Philadelphia during their visit out here with us for the holidays. Just a short jump over to such amazing history, of course the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and we took a trolley around the city. We had fun, and I hope my kids always remember these trips we do…hopefully!

A lot of the pictures that are taken are from the trolley, so there is a glare, but most are decent. Macy’s, which used to be 12 stories, currently use I think three of the stories. They have a large organ inside, and were doing a light show for the holidays. It was fantastic! The funnest part for me, apart from having hot chocolate every couple of hours, was when it started to snow while we were waiting in line for the tour of Independence Hall. It was so exciting, we don’t get snow much where we live, and it was great! I love Independence Hall, because of the amazing events which took place there, the inspired men who stood against accusations of treachery, but followed their desires for something better and good. I believe that this Constitution, which has been the foundation of our country through thick and thin, will stay in tact, especially with the new president, and others who would like to change it, even though it’s against the law. I believe in this country, and am eternally grateful to have been born here, live here, and for those who have fought for that privilage which I partake of everyday!
