mommy and cam time…

jan. 16-17.2009
It was Madison’s turn to have a mommy weekend, but she had a fun birthday party to go to, so Camden was so excited to finally have it be her turn!

Since Camden doesn’t get to get together with little friends her age very often, she wanted to invite her little friend Sunny, which was fun for me since Sunny’s mom is my friend too.

Cam had it all planned out, working around Chuck E. Cheese of course. Then we went looking for ice cream, but found smoothies which worked out just as good! We stayed in Fairfax at the Marriott(marriott points of course:)), and the little girls picked a fun movie to watch-which of course us mom’s luckily made it through-Beverly Hills Chihuahua!

The morning was wonderful, we went down and had breakfast, pretty much anything and everything one could want. No cleaning, no cooking, no work! The girls went swimming afterward, and then we went looking for a toy at the toy store for Camden to pick out. Her love language is gifts, so I knew, us going shopping would be the highlight for little Camden. Her toy rabbit has been with us all week, which I’m glad to see. It was wonderful spending more time with sweet little Camden. You are very intelligent, organized, and have things figured out all in your little noggin. You grasp things very quickly in school, and in life. You are a joy to be around, and such a sweet little spirit. Love you Camden!

photography practice…

jan. 2009
I have started a photography course through the New York Institute of Photography, Yea for me!!! I have loved photography since I took a class in high school. I loved developing in the dark room, and the art of it all. I’m hoping to increase my knowledge, as well as the final product of my pictures after this course! I’m loving every second of it, and I hope to accomplish my goal of finishing this course, and completing the next course for professionals. We’ll see how it goes! I hope to report back that I did it. Girls, I want you to see me working on things for me also, and seeing me pursue things I love, as I want you to do!

science experiment…

jan.2009
We have been learning in botany about roots, stems, plants, leaves, and flowers. We learned about how the veins in plants bring the nutrients up from the roots. Our experiment was simple, yet fun to see the results. Simply we put celery stalks in colored died water(just food coloring of course), and we could see how the veins in the stalk brought the red up to the top, just as they do nutrients in the soil when in the ground.

allergies, anyone???

january 12. 2009
If you have any milk allergies, or know of someone that does, I have an amazing friend that is not only a fantastic cook, she has four out of five children with milk allergies. They are extreme allergies. They can’t have a bit of anything with milk, not a lick!

Besides being a homeschool mother to five children, expecting her sixth, she has also self-published an amazing cookbook with extraordinary recipes for people with allergies. I myself am getting one, to use the recipes with milk, because they are delicious, healthy recipes, and I need more of those. Here is the link to her website and blog, www.milkallergycompanion.com. You can order off of her blog, or off of Amazon, but she gets a few more pennies if you go through her blog.

May you enjoy food a little more if you have allergies, and if not, may you enjoy great recipes!!!
