madison’s first cavity…

jan. 23. 2009
The girls and I have never had a cavity, so Madison is the first to have to get a filling. Our girl’s dentist office is like disneyland, not sure if I shared this before or not, it’s a drive, about an hour into Virginia, but worth it. It’s amazing, I would love to go there, unfortunately, they don’t take adults.

The new technology they have, is astounding! They use laser and water now instead of drilling into the tooth. Then they did the same color enamel to fill in the tooth, the whole process took only about 20 minutes, all while you are in a comfy chair watching a movie that you picked out! The dentists and assistants are so sweet to the kids too, they make it sounds like no big deal that their going to “tickle” your tooth when they’re scraping it!!! The kids have no idea though, and totally love it. Alex heard that Madison got strawberry flavored nitrous oxide, and couldn’t believe they had a new flavor since she had to have it… weird I know, my kids look forward to going!

This office beats the one here in our little town in West Virginia, the dentist wanted to extract four teeth out of Alex’s mouth a few years ago when she was probably 7, WITHOUT any pain medicine of any sort. Nice, gotta love red neck country!

nadia communicating through the door to alex…

Wow, an eight month old quickly gets around, and we’re trying to teach her what she can and can’t get into. We’ve always just taught our kids what was o.k. to play with, and knock on wood, we’ve never even baby proofed our home. So I finally distracted Nadia over to the door where Alex was. Alex had been playing in the light dusting of snow we had gotten a few weeks ago. Alex decided to bring some snow into the girls, since they weren’t feeling good and were all taking a warm bath, and they were watching how fast the snow would melt in the water. Science at it’s best:)
