things coming together?

august 31.2008
So, our house is pretty much put back together, Yea! Nadia’s surgery went well. After 7 1/2 hours, our dang gas dryer was hooked up. I finished getting the rooms painted before the surgery, Yea! And was able to do school last week, even though I’m not exactly where I’d like to be in having everything prepared, but nevertheless, I really enjoyed it. Here’s to movin’ through the crazy times!

Also, some of our pic’s are blurry, because Jarom’s dang camera has been doing that lately. Darn. So, that’s why a lot of times we look like a blurry family:)

nadia’s surgery…

august 20. 2008
Nadia’s surgery went well. We headed to Fairfax Inova(same hospital that Madison had her heart surgery at, and were there for 10 weeks!), on Wednesday the 20th, and after her having to wait half the day without food, Jarom did the walk down where they put her to sleep, and she went into surgery. Her right kidney couldn’t drain because the tube under the kidney that drains to the bladder was too narrow(call the ureter). They cut the narrow part out, and re-attached the ureter to the kidney. They put three drain tubes in her side. One is actually to make sure the ureter doesn’t close up after the swelling comes down. We finally were able to leave Saturday morning, and we high-tailed it out of there. We were grateful it went well, and pray that her kidney function doesn’t decrease anymore. I was so grateful for help with meals, a fun visit from Cody, Cami, and Kaylee at the hospital, and most importantly, Grandma Olson staying with us and taking care of our other girls while Jarom and I were away. We’re very blessed.

camping in the backyard…

august 15.2008
Jarom told the girls he would camp with them in our backyard, and they had so much fun! I joined them for a few minutes while the smores were out, and went back in and finished painting Nadia’s room. It was the girls’ first time camping, Alex went with us when she was about 1, so besides that, it’s all a new thing. I’m not fond of the packing all the junk, and cleaning it up after a campout, so it’s probably my fault! Any-hoo, it was a success. Jarom surprised the girls with starbursts and flashlights inside the tent, and Cam woke up twice with her sleeping bag the opposite direction. Who knows! Fun times! The girls came in for cold cereal, and took it back outside to keep the camping feeling going. They loved it, and the clean up was easy, so I really loved it! What fun memories with daddy.
