november 14&16.2008
On Friday, November 14th in Columbus, OH, we met with a magistrate and finalized our adoption of Nadia. It was a great experience, and one I hope the girls will always remember too. We went out for ice cream after, so I’m sure that will bring back a memory!
Then on Sunday, November 16, Jarom blessed Nadia in the Liberty Ward in Ohio, which is his parents ward. Jarom’s father, brother, and a close friend were able to stand in the circle to bless her. Leticia and David, Nadia’s birthmom and fiance, came to the blessing also, and we were able to visit after church for awhile. Leticia gave us a beautiful video for Nadia to remember her by, and we wanted to share it, just make sure you have lots of tissue, it’ll make you cry!
It was a whirlwind of a weekend, and wonderful. We were thankful for family and friends, especially Carolyn who I called on for help many times. I missed my mother being able to attend, but I know her spirit was there looking on. The dress Nadia wore along with the tatted hat, I was blessed in, and each of the girls. Thanks mom and grandma for spending so much time on the beautiful dress!
We were also able to have our first official family pictures taken on Monday as Nadia had been made officially ours. We will post those when we get them.
Those who were in attendance: Darold and Carolyn Olson, Justin and Laural and Cardon Olson, Brandon and Jen and Mason and Daniel Livingston, Leticia and David. Thanks all for coming and sharing this amazing experience with us.
