cacapon state park…

august 2009
To enjoy our last full week of no school, Grandma Lott thought it would be fun to go to the “beach” at Cacapon, and get in some swimming. I love these places more than pools for some reason, maybe the beautiful surroundings of nature I guess, it’s just more enjoyable, even with the sand. After being there, maybe an hour, we had some rain roll through. Then it left, and we waited 20 minutes after the last thunder, and went to get in, and five seconds later it thundered again, followed by a heavy downpour, which was a lot of fun. It made the day eventful for sure, and it was a fun memory.

We then stopped by “Bath” on the way home, where George Washington would bathe. All the water comes from natural springs, and they’re supposed to be healing waters. Nevertheless, it’s out in the open, so one must wonder if there was any privacy?
